I was really really really bored. I even wished to go back to school then.

Then I decided to look for things to do while bored, and ended up going to http://www.bored.com/ .

It's quite a cute website (I mean the humour part). Anyway, I clicked on a link which showed Life's Unanswered Questions (LUQ) which are really quite true and funny. They are really wacky. :D

Some of which are:

Why did Sally sell seashells on the seashore when we could just pick them up anyway?
Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the glue bottle?
How old are you before it can be said you died of old age?
Why is it said that an alarm clock is going off when really its coming on?
Why do we say we're head over heels when we're happy? Isn't that the way we normally are?

KARAOKE PARTY & WEIRD DREAM

I've been addicted to this cool online karaoke game thingy my sister introduced to me (more accurately, the newspaper) [Li Ting says: You're welcome Yi Xin...(because I didn't say thank you for me telling her about it)] that accesses how in-tune you sing all FOR FREE. It's really fun! The more green thingies you have, the better. There's a score to keep track. They have lots and lots of songs! There is also a song by Louis Armstrong, not sure of title, but lyrics are "... and I sing to myself, what a wonderful world...". They also have Celine Dion's songs, Paramore etc. You can also request songs!

All you need is just a microphone (those kinds that are PC compatible). Just plug it in. And for those who are shy about singing in public, it is the perfect chance to see how in-tune you are. The thing works like this: you sing into the microphone, and they will match your pitch with the original song.

So far, my highest score is 7299/10000, which is rather low, considering that other people can get about 9100++. (Yeah and my sister got 7300++ which beat my score. However, at that time I sang the song, the microphone was cranky. And when she sang it, it wasn't that bad. Plus, my other sister says I actually sound better than her. Booyah!) Hey, they either keep practising the same song or choose easy ones or CHEAT! The cheat I thought about was to just play the song (its a sing-along actually) really loud and stick your microphone to the speaker. I've tried it, so I know. But the bad part is that you won't hit some notes because of the background music. Plus, I sang an easy song and sounded weird as usual. Singing in tune is not equal to having a good voice! (Booyah Li Ting!)

Oh yes, some songs are not sung by the original singers, so it sounds a little weird. I've tried a song (forgot the title) which is mostly talking. I talked and I failed! You must like match the pitch of the voice, so its quite hard (especially if there's rapping and stuff. Umbrella by Rihanna is really hard. For me anyway.).

So try it anyway! Tell me what score you got (on my tagboard or something)!

Today, I had a really weird dream. I dreamt that I was escaping Singapore to Turkey, and I was walking. (Weirdness factor #1: Walking to Turkey is almost impossible! For a person who dislikes exercise!)

It was during winter, because there was snow on the ground. Not too faraway, I saw a couple sitting down and collecting something. On further inspection, I found that they were holding those type of small cups for sampling drinks and stuff and collecting something shiny dripping from the sky. I asked them what it was, and they said it was GOLD! (Weirdness factor #2: Is there such thing as liquid gold? If there is, does it even drop from the sky?) Then I was so shocked and questioned them more and more. Can't really remember the details.

After that, I vaguely remember them going towards some hotels. They chose the Hilton hotel. At them time, the Hilton was supposedly having bad business because of some rumour, and thus the cheap hotel room prices. (LOL. I "dream".) I don't remember them coming back. Somehow, I got this really big red bucket that you can easily find in the parsamalam and put it under the dripping sky area. I collected that amount of gold. Somehow (again), I managed to acquire lots of lock-and-lock boxes and stored the gold there. I didn't want them spilling all over and waste the gold! I continued collecting until there was no more. I knew because some gold
engine-look-alike-container dropped in my big red bucket. (Weirdness factor #3: Liquid gold dripping from the sky is weird enough for me already. And now an engine-look-alike-container? Maybe I'm going insane!)

I then somehow (again) got a large piece of black cloth and those trolley-looking-kind-of-thing and packed everything on it and covered it with the large piece of black cloth! I didn't want anyone peeking in and robbing me! So that was the end of my weird dream and I woke up.

I went to a concert yesterday (STARS@W4) held at NUS concert hall. It was okay I guess, except for the loud and inappropriate cheering, ushers who did not allow us to sit freely (and its free-sitting! How ironic.). It was free though. My mum got the tickets from her school. STARS@W4 stand for Simply Talented And Really Splendid @ West 4. The name is really lame. The first performance was a Lion Dance by Dazhong Primary School, it was okay I think, I missed the first part. Princess Elizabeth Primary School performed next. They performed the Dance of the Golden Snake (by the way, the Chinese Orchestra performed it). It was quite good, just lacking some dynamics and the intonation could be improved. The person who played the timpani was so cool! Then they had some presentation of certificates? Keming Primary School performed a dance called Ayunan Gadis Jelita. It was quite well done compared to the rest. Dancing Peacocks by Lianhua Primary School was a bit uhh... uncoordinated. Their costumes were quite cool I guess. Bukit Timah Primary School (my mum's teaching there) was quite good too. They performed some Chinese dance and was very synchronised (I'm not being biased! They were one of the best.)

A military band performed next (from Bukit View Secondary School). It was so-so. The intonation could be improved a lot (it was rather out of tune) and more practice would be needed to perfect the song (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End). Hayat by Jurongville Secondary School could be improved. I think the main focus was the dance, but I was instead attracted to the musicians at the back playing the anklongs (spelling?) and xylophones, despite the bright colours the dancers were wearing. Break Away by Yuan Ching Secondary School was quite good. It was a mix of hip-hop and jazz. Could be more synchronised though. They did cool bodywaves.

A choir performed next. I've never seen such a small choir of 9 people. Intonation and harmonisation could be improved further. Hong Kah Primary School performed the Zapin Riang next (I think its an Indian dance). It was good. The rest of the performances were good, especially Rejoicing in Harmony by Bukit View Primary School. The little girl (the main star of the performance) was so CUTE! They can all do splits okay! The just jumped and did splits somewhere towards the end of the performance. The dance was awarded "Gold with Honours" in the SYF this year!

After the performance, we were told to stand up and applause for the the Guest-of-Honour to receive her token of appreciation. So, in order to not waste our time, we decided to leave (all the other people also wanted to leave. We were at the second circle). However, the usher did not allow us to leave. Hello? Hundreds of paying audiences have to wait for the Guest-of-Honour and the VIPs who did not pay for the ticket to leave before they could leave? So, my dad got angry and started his whole threatening and unhappy audience routine. They had to let us out in the end.

On the trip back, my dad was like, "The ushers were terrible! They treated us all like children. Cannot sit at other places! Even those seated in front who could not see and wanted to lean at the railing also don't let them! They had to sit so straight you know! I'm gonna complain tomorrow!"

But I don't think he would complain (its "tommorow" now). The last time, he wanted to complain to the LTA about the signs on the road which said "Have a pleasant day!" or something along those lines. He said that they "wasted electricity" and "caused everybody to slow down because they had to look up", which were quite true.

Today was an okay day. Did lots of stuff!

I categorised books with my sister and we made a catalogue! ITS SO COOL! We have so far 257 books excluding the ones we keep in our own shelves! My mum's paying us $10 for the job and for me to teach her how to make drop down lists in excel spreadsheet. Heh, more money to spend in TURKEY!

My sister just baked some peanut butter cookies! They taste SUPER GOOD! Although its a bit cakey, its addictive! She baked apple crumble yesterday too! It was nice too. Too bad we had no ice-cream.

Hi! I will be posting in English today, no worries! (If you even have any.. o.o)

Ate my breakfast--melted cheese with tomato ketchup and mustard on bread! SUPER YUMMY!, did some Sec 2 math which I can't get (ration, rate and porpotion and some algebraic equations) since the start of the year (we learnt those this year.) Had the responsibility of waking my sister up to go to school for her O's. Physics today, I think. Went to school for ensemble with her 1h 45min earlier. T.T SO LONELY! I went to the library to play games instead!

T.T There goes my chance in SYF! Anyway, today Mr Chan was in a bad mood, because of the file and scores and bowings and markings. We spent practically 45++ mins sorting those out. There were some missing scores and files.. My personal score got used as a stand score! Sigh.. String Camp got finalised. We're having an overnight camp! NOO! I hate the bathrooms in school! I don't wanna bathe..

Enough about strings, too boring! My sister improved 35++% for her math and got a 'Best Improvement' trophy! Cool? Its quite strange though.

首先，我先要为了我很不好的华文道歉。对不起！

我这几天来好闷哦！因为姐姐要靠'O'水准所以不能出去玩。甚至不能在家弹钢琴或拉小提琴--她必须‘读书’。哈！我看她根本不在读书。我只好安分守己，开始做一点功课。功课太闷了。。。我先试图作‘改写文章’的作业，但还没开那本书，就开始感到困。我想做化学作业，但我根本不明白Bohr的院子模型。不，我不想明白。那么复杂的东西，不是和我简单的脑袋。糟糕吧！呵呵！我好懒哦！我想看片CD什么的，但一想起有那么多的假期功课和还没看完的联系剧，我就没心情看了。对啊，我就是那么的善变。

我不知为什么突然有个想要找很酷有好笑的照片，但这就是我寻找的结果。

YAY! EXAMS are officially OVER. And I have decided to undead my blog a little. (Note the word: little)

Anyway, I came up with a list of THINGS TO DO yesterday. o.o

Well, this list is not really complete, but that's good enough for now (?).

Anyway, as you can see, I'm not really eager about getting back my results next week (knowing i probably failed most of them).

When I mean fail, I mean fail fail. Not the do-badly-but-pass kind of fail.

Oh dear me.

LOL. HI EVERYONE! Didn't post for so long! Anyway, please help by doing the survey above!

L.A. was so emotional yesterday. I suppose I came in at the wrong time! Didn't know the full story. But from what I heard, it was sort of like a confession time.

WE HAD SEC 4 FAREWELL PARTY YESTERDAY! IT WAS THE MOST fun ENSEMBLE SESSION WE EVER HAD!!!

We hardly even play a song! We went through some Founder's Day pieces. When Joanne Loo (Ahma) said, "I'll pretend to be M.s ----- okay?" , everyone went "eww", "yucks" or some other weird sounds of disgust. It is confirmed that almost the entire ensemble dislikes M.s. -----! Well, she made us practise her stupid M.Y.B.F. song she composed. It sucks! She deleted a few lines of her song to make it sound better. However, it sounded even worse and incomplete! It was bad in the first place. Oh, but her piano playing is good!

When we were packing our violins, Sam and I started quarrelling. LOL. It was really funny. We were calling each other weird names.

Sam & Alene & Se Ern: You photocopied the encore piece and went home to practise it right?
Me: No, lah!
Sam: Must have lah, play so well! (added the "play so well" in)
Me: Suit yourself! Think whatever you want. But I didn't photocopy the encore piece.
Sam: (said something which I can't remember)
Me: Huh? You all jealous is it? Jealous that I can sideread BETTER THAN YOU?

Then comes the calling of names. It was super funny!

Sam: You... pancake, stretched strawberry face!
Me: ...
Sam: Person-with-a-hole-drilled-in-her-forehead!
Me: ...

etc.

We 'quarrelled' like this twice.

I know we sound childish.

Okay, now for the happiest/most fun part of the FAREWELL PARTY!

We played... ... HIDE THE SEC 4s AND SEEK FOR THEM!

LOL. Eunice guessed right. We thought it was lame at first, but it was really really FUN!

We were ONE person short though! We were supposed to have 1 Sec 1, 2, 3! But there were NO MORE SEC 2s LEFT! But Anna let us go! :)

We had to sign the FAREWELL cards before we could go! When I was signing my last card for Natalie Tan, someone by the name of Sarah-Ann Moh started pulling me away (when she herself didn't even sign all the cards!)

So for her card, I wrote" Hi! Yi Xin".

We had to hold hands and search the Secondary area of the first floor. We kicked under those covered tables and went "FOUND YOU!" in every room we searched.

The first Sec 4 we found was Jong! She had a very unique hiding place. She sat on the benches on the concourse in a poised manner, pretending to be one of those who were waiting for their parents to pick them up. Of course we 'took' her! Initially, she refused to go with us and hid her hands behind her back, but we threatened to pull her by her legs if she refused and she went, "Oh oh". She went with us of course.

Next to Sec 4s we found were Nicole and Wan Qi. They were hiding under the staircase. Talk about killing two birds with one stone!

We then went around practically the entire school. It was tiring but fun!

We didn't win though. Another group had 4 Sec 4's. Plus, Huan Ting was nowhere to be found! She said she hid in the classrooms and the MEP rooms. The most obvious places, yet we didn't see her!

After that, we ate donuts kindly bought by Mr. Chan! Yummy!

We then went to take photos and went home.

LESSONS LEARNT:

Buy cello rosin next time -- it has better grip
Think ahead/on the spot for better comebacks when insulting others
Hide in better places when I'm Sec 4 (hide in most obvious places and you get a prize!)
Write faster

I really wonder what will happen when WOOMEILING joins the ensemble. It will probably be SUPER FUN/CRAZY!

YAY! I changed my blogskin... the other one's too boring... okay, as Marian requested, i shall post a little about the SWIM MEET.

Okay, one word: superduperBORING

i sat with the jacksonites this year (sam/chloe/isabel chu had lotsalotsa food). i LOVED the frozen fruits.. so refreshing. anyway, i brought sweets too! lets see: skittles, gummie worms, warheads.

okay on with the post. one thing i liked about the swimmeet was that, marian's face was painted RED!! so cool! looked like red indian though (marian, if you are reading this, no offence) haha!! you looked a bit like a baboon too! *silently praying* marian, don't read this!!! we played games to pass time. i liked polar bear most though. but i must ask sam, why did she choose me (for both games) to be hunter and polar bear respectively? i ended up dead for the first game, and correctly accused for the second. SAMMOH! you know that i absolutely cannot lie well! when we played murderer i winked at the detective. busted. how good am i?

for the last hour, i went back to the olson section because my sister came to look for me.

we cheered a lot, drank water, and went HOME!!!

and now, i have come to the end of this wonderfully boring post.

YAY!! I'm posting this time to fulfill MARIAN KANG'S wish. I shall make an effort to type in proper english today. I'M SAD/DEPRESSED/TIRED and ALL the other umm... sad/dull words?

Okay, its mainly because I'm overly stressed about the test tomorrow. BECAUSE, I don't understand how to do the HCL 六要素(liuyaosu)and结构段(jiegouduan)and主题(zhuti). That's basically the ENTIRE paper. *sobs* I always FAIL the comprehension paper. The worst thing is, I may actually fail this term's HCL. Firstly, I (as usual) failed, the comprehension paper (the video one), and secondly, I did not take the 词语(ciyu) test. Laoshi refused to let me take the test as i delayed it for TOO long... Plus, that is the only test that can pull my overall results higher!!!

Another reason is that, my bow (violin bow) is sort of spoilt... It is SUPER expensive okay!! ($630) One part of the bow dropped off, making my beautiful bow look a little 'botak'... WAHH!!! I have to fix it soon!!!

I have one happy thing to talk about today!! XD Unexpectedly, I passed the interview for the prefect elections!! WHOOPPEEEE!!! I expected to get kicked out, since I flunked the interview. Now, all I need to become a prefect is VOTES!!! People reading this (in MGS Secondary 1), VOTE FOR CHAN YI XIN!! (But it's okay if you don't vote for me [if you think I'm not suitable to become a prefect], I won't blame you!)

YAYY!!! i survived the 2.8km run!! well, i actually wanted to give up halfway, but thanks to my dad (who ran with me throughout the entire race), i ran the entire journey.. i didn't walk!! i think i did quite well-- i came in earlier than chloe, so my timing is below 15mins!! not bad for a first try! OLSON ROCKS!!! we clinched 2nd place!

ok, as promised, here are the pics. it may be quite blur! sorry! i don't have steady hands, especially after playing the violin for 2++hours nonstop! forgive me!

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Somebody save my life???? WE HAVE CROSS-COUNTRY TOMMOROW!!

Reasons why i'm frustrated:

i got no stamina
super duper slow
need to be distracted to run fast without getting tired-- e.g laughing? jumping to touch leaves?
i will have stitch halfway through
will get discouraged when ppl overtake me
nobody to run with (actually, bea is gonna run with me, but then she'll run faster if there's a need)
come on, it's a 2.8 km run!!

Reasons why i shouldn't be frustrated:

i can help OLSON win points
i like running?? (occasionally)
my dad's running to cheer me on? (i think he is)
mun will run with me if i'm last
i'm running at one of my favourite parks?
i get to see teachers in go-karts crashing into each other?
WE GET LET OFF EARLIER BY 3 1/2 HOURS

i LOVE chinese!!!! it's soooo FUN!! marian and nicole seet came up with weird ideas while our laoshi was briefing us about the run tmr. marian or nicole (forgot who and i can't remember their exact words) was saying stuff like "老师,明天我要带一张椅子" and "老师，我妈妈叫我带风扇，帽子，雨伞, 食物，和水" laoshi was like, "明天干脆不要跑了!"

during the boring parts, i was busy sketching my hand under the table. its quite nice you know!!! and woomeiling was drawing throughout the entire lesson. copy me ah you!! she drew my water bottle (the blue one with the 'yo' written by gen). it was okayish, just a bit lopsided.. i think ill take a picture of the hand i drew and post it up here another time.

i just realised something. nobody calls 'woomeiling' 'meiling' other than some of the teachers. most of the student call her 'woomeiling'. strange.. woomeiling's email accnt is soo cute!! something to do with 'woolly'. haha!!

yay!!! my mum got me a new rubik's cube as my old one (fakey) is all torn and tattered. literally. the stickers are peeling off and some parts are falling off. i shall take a picture and post it here another time (together with my sketching of my hand).

stupid liting. >:( i have a chinese exam which requires earphones and she wont lend me hers. plus, the exams on tuesday. i have to go and find one SOON!! the worst thing is, she doesnt want to help me print my mep assignment which is unfortunately due tmr. ahhh!! got lots of stuff to do:

umm... well, i think this blog is gonna be DEAD. i dont have that much time to update it (im just too lazy). anyway, today's chinese lesson was FUN!!!! i laughed alot. we had to do this characterization thingy yesterday, but we dint complete it. so, we brought it home to do. in the end i had to complete it myself because, WOO MEI LING was TOO LAZY to do, i accidentally brought home nicole wongs text book.. heh!! my fault. when we presented it today, ours had the most words on it (i tend to over do some stuff sometimes), but they were all rubbish. hey, i did it yesterday night when i was sleepy. so dont blame me!!!!

during health check up, we had lots of fun. practically the entire class played contact and polar bear and hunter. it was SOOOO FUN!!! yay! then when the next 10 people had to go for their check up, someone suggested that we play murderer, concentration and 'what and huh'. heh, i was one of the murderers. shreenithi was obviously the detective, as she was staring at everybody's eyes. scary. HAHAHA!!! I 'KILLED' ONE PERSON. the unlucky victim was sarayu!! im a VERY LOUSY winker, but amazingly, no one noticed i winked at sarayu! must have improved over the years.. hmmm lets see, the last time i played murderer was in p4. wonder how i improved without even playing for 2 years.

I THINK IM GOOD AT CONCENTRATION!!! sarayu and i had a spar.. nobody won though... sadly. and for polar bear, i was the polar bear.. me and rohini actually. we decided to kill abigail... muahahah!!! *evil*

for what and huh, it was SO CONFUSING!!!!! i was 'huhing' throughout the entire game. well, i thought it was too risky to say 'what' to the person on the right.. or is it left?? ehh.. i cant remember..

*sighs* got lots of hw today!!! wonder how ill manage. nothing to write already leh.. so byebye!!(:

im quite depressed!!! i FAILED my HCL exam with 'flying' colours... (have i mentioned, this is the first time i FAILED in my entire life?) well, it was a first try and laoshi was very strict... if i were in 1G, i would probably have passed... oh, and i missed out 1 question!! cant believe i didnt even see it!!! when i went home and announced the bad news, my dad was like "oh", my 2nd sis didnt even care, and my oldest sis was like, "YAY!!!" o.o that was weird... my oldest sister is weird.. 'YAY!' ??? i FAILED my exam!!! but nevermind lah... anyways, lots of ppl failed in 1T.. so.. i shall take this failure lightly.. HOPEFULLY though..
